- Be Specific: When entering your preferences, be as detailed as possible. Specify the style of photography you want, the type of locations you’re interested in, and any particular moments you want to capture.
- Check Portfolios: Use AI to narrow down your options, but always review photographers' portfolios yourself. This ensures their style matches your vision.
- Read Reviews Thoroughly: While AI can summarize reviews, take the time to read a few in detail to get a sense of the photographer’s past work with clients. If you can't get personal recommendations from people you know personally, this is a great way to see that you won't be the photographer's first client.
- Communicate Clearly: Once you’ve found a potential photographer, communicate your needs and expectations clearly. Good communication is key to ensuring a successful photoshoot.
There are a few types of photography Clients: People who only get professional family photos for major milestones, people who only take family photos when traveling on vacation, and people who only take family photos in the fall. Today I wanted to focus on the second type. In today's digital age, finding the perfect family photographer on vacation has become easier and more efficient, thanks to the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Here are a few ways to make this search easier!
1. Instagram Hashtags: Search by location + photographer. This can be an area or specific town: i.e. #poconosphotographer or #gaithersburgphotographer This is a great way to search because it allows you to immediately see photographers in that area and their work.
2. Instagram AI search feature: This is newish and constantly evolving. In the search bar type in the type of photographer you are looking for and location then hit the blue search icon, and it will scan accounts.
3. Google! Good old fashion googling the town and the type of photography you want. For example: Washington, DC Family Photographer. Google will find the photographers whose website descriptions have that area.
4. Ask ChatGPT to find you a family photographer near your vacation destination. Be specific about your budget and style you may be looking for. Then use that list to search through portfolios to make sure you like the photographer's work.
